A World Class Fibre Network
Quite simply, the Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) are a world class telecommunications infrastructure, one that was deployed at a cost of c. €174 million. The network is state of the art, in-so-far-as it’s a fibre infrastructure (not copper) with virtually limitless bandwidth capacity.
Fibre is universally accepted as the only future proofed technology for telecommunications and the MANs have been built using the latest fibre optic technology, bringing unrivalled resilience and service quality.
The infrastructure is designed in interconnected fibre rings, reducing the risk of service interruption common to other networks.
The high standard of the network build means high capacity, cost-effective and flexible bandwidth services, allowing operators to provide for all end user business requirements.
Significantly, e|net continue to make investments in the expansion of the network to ensure that the infrastructure increases its footprint and additional premises can be brought “on-net”.
In addition to the fibre network, the MANs also include a fully monitored carrier class co-location (Point of Presence) facility on every MAN, where we offer products such as rack space and antennae space.
Currently, e|net has a number of backhaul suppliers which we use to interconnect the MANs, such as BT, eircom, ESBT and Hibernia Atlantic, and bring traffic back to Dublin (typically).
